SimulIDE is the only circuit simulator I know without any reference to SPICE.

Does SimulIDE somehow use SPICE as the backend engine?

Does SimulIDE support SPICE component models?

Thanks!

Hi.
No, simulide does not use Spice and don't support Spice models.

Thank you for the info.

I am a software developer looking to make mixed D/A design and simulations easier for people. I would like to learn from your experiences.

What makes you decide to not base on Spice? Is Spice buggy, hard to use, or hard to interface from other simulation models?

Mostly because I wanted to create a circuit simulator from scratch, not a GUI for an existing one.
With these goals:
- Simple.
- Easy to use.
- Fast.
- Interactive.

So I didn't even consider build it on top of Spice.

SimulIDE is real fast indeed.
