how about a rotary switch - like those on an amplifiers to select input source?

Yes those are needed and are already in the list (also rechargeable battery is the list).

By now the focus is in finishing and debugging all the changes introduced in 1.0.0.
Specially new MCU simulator.
So I'm not implementing many new components right now unless there is a collaboration.

As soon as 1.0.0 is close to complete, new components will come.

I should probably check that list of requests on the top of this section; I apologize.

I was already seeking for some kind of tutorial on component development, but failed to find any. Perhaps I overlooked it?

No, there is no such tutorial.

Some components can be created as subcircuits.
But rotary switch needs to de done in C++.
