Arduino tool path

Hi,

I like to use SimulIDE with Linux but I can't get it to compile anything.

I tried to set the tool path:

/usr/share/arduino/ - doesn’t work

/usr/share/arduino/hardware/tools/ - doesn’t work

/usr/share/arduino/hardware/tools/avr/bin/ - seems to work, but then I get this error:

stat /usr/share/arduino/hardware/tools/avr/bin/hardware: no such file or directory

Yeah, there is no more "hardware" directory down there.

WTF? Don't know what I am doing wrong ...

Any comments?

Arduino from Linux repos ussually don't have the command line interface, so it doesn't work with SimulIDE.
You need to download it from Arduino website.

Also the new Arduino 2 is not yet supported, so you need to download version 1.8.19.
