Feature request and smaller issues with Boards

For tracking the issues my students found and due to my MEXLE request:
  • Issue: Once one tries to setup a board with socket simulides crashes when changing in bord mode (R999@WIN10)
  • Issue / Feature request: shields are always attached in the top center of a board. Not all shields working in RL work like this.
  • Feature request: Is there a way to stack shield on top or side by side?

I'm not sure what is exactly side by side, I need to see it.

With side-by-side I mean something like having multiple shields next to each other on a board.
e.g. multiple mikroBUS (or MEXLE) shields like on the Curiosity Nano Adapter:
