My students are using the 4051 mux, but I seems to create crashes with avr core after connecting the logic analzyer or a scope.
An example of such a circuit is attached.
Used simulide Version: V1.0.0 WIN10 (and also available in R768)
Situation:
It seems that any (new) connection between scope/analyzer and 74HC4051 generates a crash... Sometimes the error is also shown in a windows error message (illegal memory access), see attached jpg.

- open simulide (WIN10)
- load crashAVR.sim1
- run (without any hex flashed)
- stop
- connect CH1 of the logic analyzer to Z of the 74HC4051
