Hi,

I'm studying JFETs ( doing a course on them) and I don't know how to reproduce the course exercises on SimulIDE. The thing is that JFETS don't seem to exist on SimulIDE. . Is that so? I'm using the mosfet symbol instead.

For instance the sim1 I'm attaching

Hi.
JFET works in depletion mode.
Open Mosfet properties and check "Depletion".

Btw, there is an error in your circuit.
Mosfet gate is not connected:

Using JFETS Error10

Ok, thanks. It was misconnected, but anyway, once connected and checked 'depletion', there's hardly  any variation. I'm trying to reproduce an exercise which should have Id = 1.5mA and Vds = 10V. considering the data given: resistors and Idss and Vpinch-off.

You know that JFETs work in reverse bias (negative voltage) right?

Yes, one of the four possible biases, but not the one I'm talking about. I don't know the English for the one I'm studying right now: 'Autopolarización'. The circuit I sent is a typical example.

Yes, language can complicate things sometimes.

There are some problems here: depletion mode is not working correctly, but in any case the Mosfet model in Simulide is too simple for cases like this.

So by now there is no way you can simulate this circuit in Simulide.

Ok, thanks. Don't worry. I'm sure SimulIDE will end up managing these circuits and many more. Aupa SimulIDE!!!

I will add a better MOSFET model and perhaps a JFET too.
But I guess this will take some time.

Ok, let me know when it is added
